1. identify the most timely opportunities for their inventions, who would be the most likely to want to use the technology, and how to get the invention to the stage where there is funding for development of the invention

2. identify the most appropriate strategy to ensure that projects achieve their potential benefit to society though commercialisation.

3. raise finance for projects to achieve the next milestone in the development of a potential product ready for licensing or for formation of a new company

4. provide relationships with larger organisations that could be the ultimate licensing partners

5. provide finance for IP and strategic development work

6. provide expertise to add significant value to the project
